I can collect is invaluable. This book is complete enough to allow
any moderately skilled wood/metalworker to construct an accurate,
authentic medieval or Victorian crossbow, as well as providing enough
information to give a thorough understanding of crossbow mechanics,
tuning, and design that will help get the most out of any crossbow,
ancient or modern. Also the appendices on siege engines and obscure thrown
weapons sports are a stockpile of research that is available in no other
source I know. If you have the means to acquire only one book on
this subject, it should be this one.
