This collection of wild and woolly adventure stories from real life was first published by Stackpole Books in 1954. From roping bear and cougar in Arizona to hunting wild boar with a longbow on Santa Catalina Island in California and alligator wrestling in the Everglades, Howard Hill was the prototypical "extreme" guy. Includes outstanding photography from Hill's adventures of such animals as grizzly bear, elk, mountain sheep and moose. First published by Stackpole Books in 1954. Foreword by Errol Flynn. New preface by Jerry Hill, the author's nephew.

Customer Rating: Summary: Howard Hill's "Wild Adventure" Comment: Here is a good solid read for anyone interested in bowhunting.
Customer Rating: Summary: Incredible stories from an archery legend. Comment: This book did not turn out to be what I had expected. It is filled with stories from Howard Hill's life but not specifically about hunting and archery. Most of the book covers Howard's exploits as he attempts to photograph and film wild animals across North America in the 20's and 30's. While reading the book I came to realize that in the days before "extreme sports" there were people who would pursue activities that most rational people would dismiss as very dangerous if not suicidal. This book is full of these stories and an entertaining read.
