Comment: I have admired Steve Bartylla's magazine articles for many years. When I saw he had done a book I had my wife buy it for my birthday. I was not disappointed. Rather than telling you what to do "because I say so," Steve explains why he takes the steps he does and the logic behind the approach he uses. That understanding makes it so it can be easily applied to all of my hunting areas. I already know how I can hunt 3 areas more effectively and that reading his book has made me a better hunter. I need more birthday presents like that!

Summary: Wish I would have had it 20 years ago
Comment: After reading enough books and magazines, I believed that they didn't have much left to teach me. Most go over the same things covered 8000 times before. This is different. It is a no BS guide to where to put stands for every phase of season. After reading it, you know how to identify all 7 stages, where the best spots are for each, how to find them and why you need to be there. Reading this book, you learn fast that this guy knows what he is talking about. The chapters on mistakes and tips are very good to.
